Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you make a living, the other helps you make a life. – Sandra Carey
How true it is!
I read somewhere knowledge speaks but wisdom listens. Why does wisdom listens? It is because wisdom makes judgement of what is right and what is wrong and it requires no law or penalties for ensuring compliance.
What is knowledge then? It is having information of facts and ideas that we gain through study, discussion, research, observation, reading, experience or listening. But wisdom goes further than this, it is the ability to discern whether the knowledge gained is true or right and how it can be used in life.
We often mix the two and think knowledge and wisdom is same.
Knowledge is a tool and wisdom is how we use that tool in the journey of life. If you have a pistol and have a knowledge how to use it but do not have a wisdom whether to use it or not, you can create havoc with it, if you use it for wrong purpose.
So having knowledge is not enough, we need to have wisdom for how to use it.
Sometimes that seems so simple, is not simple after all. Wisdom is awakening that lightens up the path of knowledge.
Be on that track of knowledge always and keep using your wisdom 🙂
